Abstract submission for EEC2018 is now open!

The EEC2018 scientific programme committee is pleased to invite all delegates to submit abstracts for poster presentation.

When submitting your abstract, you will have to select a topic group that you wish to submit your abstract under.
This will allow to dispatch your submitted abstract among the members of the scientific programme committee and when your abstract will be accepted to schedule your poster in the corresponding theme session.
In addition, best abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.
Note, the scientific programme committee reserves the right to re-categorise.

Abstract submission guidelines
  • All abstracts must be submitted electronically via the EEC abstract submission site, and not by fax or email.
  • Abstracts will be accepted in English only
  • An international panel of reviewers will review all abstracts anonymously.
  • Submission of an abstract for consideration for presentation implies that the presenting author intends to register for and attend EEC2018 to present his/her work.
  • Please do not submit an abstract if you are not able to travel to the congress.
  • EEC2018 organisers expect that all abstracts selected for presentation will be presented by the authors and that submitted abstracts will not be withdrawn.
  • Encore abstracts may be submitted for consideration (Encore abstracts are abstracts previously presented at another conference or previously published in a journal).
  • Case reports presented as abstract for poster display are accepted.
  • All decisions by the scientific programme committee are final.
  • In submitting an abstract to EEC2018 all authors agree to abide by EEC policies pertaining to submission, publication, and presentation of abstracts.

Submission instructions

How to create my account?
If you have not yet registered or submitted an abstract with EEC2018, click “Create an Account”. After being redirected to the account registration page you may fill in all personal and professional information as requested. You will then be asked to choose a password. A message giving your personal code and summarizing the data entered will then be sent to you by email and will give you the instructions to follow to finalise your submission / registration. Then you are now ready to return to the abstract submission page.

Step 1: How to submit my abstract?

  • Be prepared to give all the information about your abstract.
  • Corresponding author’s contact details.
  • Email address.
  • Full postal address.
  • Authors’ details must be listed as <first name> <last name> (i.e. Jane Smith)
  • The submitting author is the presenting author, who should be listed first.
  • Please use the same author information for every abstract on which an author appears (i.e. an author can submit multiple abstracts to EEC2018).
  • Affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state (if relevant) and country

Your abstract must contain:

  • A title in a single line
  • A list of authors with their affiliations. The submitting author is the presenting author, who should be listed first.
  • A relevant topic group choice to be chosen in the list.
  • Generic names must be used for pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices. The trade name of the particular product used in a study may be included in parentheses the first time the product is referenced.  The trade name may be used if the product is the only one of its general type and use of the generic name would encumber the reader.
  • Refer to Step 7: Text for further details.

Step 2: Title

  • The title must be in lowercase with a capital at the beginning. Do not use any small capitals or only capitals in the title.
  • Don't use any asterisk or notes.
  • Your title must be on a single line.
  • You must avoid using abbreviations or only very common acronyms.
  • Do not identify individuals in the title or abstract body. Doing so will result in the abstract being disqualified.

Step 3: Select a topic group

Please select the topic group of your abstract in the proposed list. It will be used to allow to dispatch your abstract for review to members of the scientific programme committee and to schedule the session for the presentation of your poster abstract.

Step 4: Authors

You should first create the list of authors and co-authors before considering submitting your abstracts. Authors will appear in alphabetical order. You can then change the order according to your choice and select the first author and the presenting author.

Step 5: Disclosure

A disclosure of medically related commercial and financial relationships must be completed for each individual author.

Step 6: Mandatory items

Authors assume complete responsibility for the data at the time of submission.

Please read all items carefully, click "I agree". You will not be able to complete your submission without having agreed with all mandatory items.

Step 7: Text

  • Your abstract must not exceed 500 words (check with the counter).
  • Tables, pictures, images may be included but will each count as 100 words.
  • You should prepare the whole content of your abstract in an editor (Word, TextEdit, etc.).
  • You can use all classic fonts because the text will automatically be formatted when submitted. Some problems may appear due to incompatibility between Mac and PC. We strongly recommend that you don't use any Greek letters but their plain counterparts: "Delta" instead of "Δ ", etc... (alpha, beta, gamma, micro, ...).

Step 8: Keywords

Please enter up to 4 keywords of your choice describing the content of your abstract.

Keywords are not mandatory.

Step 9: Preview & Finish

The abstract is automatically registered under an "In Progress" status. As long as this status is ongoing you can change your abstract until deadline by coming back to the submit page using your code.

IMPORTANT: Abstracts with a "submitted" status only will be forwarded to the scientific programme committee. So it is under your responsibility to make sure you get a submitted status by clicking on the “submit” arrow before deadline (May 31, 2018).

After clicking the "Submit" link, you will receive an email confirmation of your submission.

Step 10: Evaluation

After the submission deadline has been reached, abstracts will be dispatched to the members of the scientific programme committee, according to the mentioned topics. Based upon the ratings, the scientific programme committee will select the abstracts accepted for a poster presentation.

Best abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.

All submitters will then receive the final status (accepted or rejected) by email.
